It’s been a busy week here at MMV with the summer holidays in full swing! ☀️🏫

Over the past few days, we’ve been carrying out maintenance and servicing on a Paxton Access Ltd access control system that we inherited.

As part of our visit, we’ve been carrying out detailed inspections of the ACUs and associated equipment. One thing that immediately stood out was the number of ACUs that had no 7Ah battery backup installed.

At MMV, we don’t consider backup batteries to be optional. They are an integral part of any access control installation, ensuring the system can continue to operate in the event of a power failure or emergency situation. This is especially important within a school environment, where the reliability and resilience of security systems are critical.

For clarity, none of the ACUs pictured were installed or previously maintained by MMV, and the standards of workmanship shown do not reflect the quality we deliver to our clients.

Following our inspection, we’ll be providing the client with a comprehensive report detailing our findings, along with a schedule of recommended remedial works. This will include rewiring and tidying a number of units to improve both reliability and future maintainability.

Routine maintenance is about more than just keeping a system operational. It’s about identifying potential issues, improving resilience, and ensuring systems are ready to perform when they’re needed most.

We supply and install a wide range of professional Security, Fire, and Electrical solutions to suit your requirements. If you like what you see and would like to book a free-of-charge site survey please get in touch with our specialist team at 0333 0041220 or email lewis@mmvcontracing.com
